The Mauritanian Network for Human Rights in US; Cameroon Advocacy Network; and Ohio Immigrant Alliance hosted a plenary and strategy sessions, curated by Diaspora Praxis, LLC, entitled “Dystopia, Then Deportation: Systemic Denial of ‘Dignity, Freedom & Justice’ for Black Migrants in the United States.”

Plenary speakers were Houleye Thiam (opening); Janvieve Williams Comrie reading remarks from Dr. Nana Afua Yeboah; Breanne. Palmer (moderator); Dr. Nancy Adossi (video); Daniel Tse; Houleye Thiam; Felix; Bachirou; and Abdoulaye (live video feed).
Breakout groups were lead by Breanne Palmer, Esq., AJA Advocacy Solutions; Malado Barro and Mamadou Diallo, Afrilingual Cooperative; Janvieve Williams Comrie, AfroResistance; and Nicole Hewitt-Cabral, Community Action Strategies.
The event took place on December 12, 2023 at the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice’s convening on the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration for Human Rights in New York City.
